Installation & Setup
Welcome to HROffice! Using HROfficeHROffice consists of three major programs: Setup Manager, Employee Manager and the Report Wizard. You can play around with the sample data from the “Light and Tasty Baking Company” to explore each of them. When you feel comfortable in the test environment, feel free to import your own employee data and evaluate HROffice in your individual work setting. Using Setup Manager Setup Manager is where you enter your company specific information, setup your Human Resources policies, add custom fields, and create new user roles and IDs. Person(s) responsible for your company HR policies and benefit plans will be the primary Setup Manager user(s). Click on your Windows “Start” button and browse to HROffice -> Setup Manager to run the program. In Setup Manager, you can enter company specific information, general information, and custom fields. For example, company name(s), departments, workers’ compensation class codes, vacation and leave types, etc. You can set up the security of HROffice by specifying who has access to various parts of the system and creating user IDs and passwords. Select one of the options under the “Setup” menu in the top-left corner of the main Setup Manager screen to start entering company information. Once you have entered this general information, you are ready to set up benefit plans, time-off and review policies. Let Benefits and Attendance Setup Wizards guide you through this process. The rules you create here will be used by HROffice to calculate eligibility, volumes, costs, etc. for individual employees. Use left-hand side vertical button menu in the Setup Manager to start one of the Wizards. Using Employee Manager With Employee Manager, you can administer all your Human Resources data including general information, benefits, compensation, attendance, correspondence, and COBRA for the employees in your company and former employees. Click on your Windows “Start” button and browse to HROffice -> Employee Manager and login to the program. Employee, Compensation, Benefits, and Attendance are the four main screens of the Employee Manager where you enter and maintain all employee information. HROffice will ensure that all policies and rules defined in the Setup Manager are met when you enter data. Use left-hand side vertical menu to open one of the screens. Horizontal toolbar at the top will make it easy to find and select employees. Using the Report Wizard HROffice includes more than 260 predefined reports. There is a complete description of all preformatted reports in the HROffice Help Files, which can be found under the Start Menu in the HROffice documentation folder. Click on the “Report Wizard” button on the left-hand side vertical menu in the Employee Manager to launch the Report Wizard. Begin by selecting report category and type. Then, continue through the Wizard defining report parameters and choosing which employees will appear on the report. You can save the report and run it immediately at a later time. HROffice allows to view, print, and export reports. To open a saved report, choose “Print Reports” item under “Reports” menu at the top of the screen.
